Preventive check-up

A preventive check-up gives you information about your state of health. The scope of the examinations and how often they take place are set by regulations; after the age of 40 the range is wider. Within the set scope, the examinations are fully covered by health insurance.

You can have a preventive check-up once every 2 years. Only regular unpaid blood donors and patients who have recovered from cancer can have one every year.

Arrange your appointment with the nurse in advance, preferably by e‑mail to ambulancia@dahamed.sk, or by phone at +421 911 255 089. Within office hours, preventive check-ups have these reserved times:

• Come on an empty stomach.
• Beforehand, drink enough unsweetened fluids, ideally water.
• If you take morning medication on an empty stomach, you may take it.

• Blood test
• Urine sample test
• From the age of 40, a stool sample test as screening for colorectal cancer risk
• A clinical examination and a final evaluation of the results with recommended next steps, if needed

We give you all sample tubes at the clinic. For the stool test you need a tube from our clinic only.
